How it's worked out

Requests = visits × media files per visit. Data out = visits × MB per visit. Cache misses = requests × (1 − cache share).
Cloudflare R2: $0.015 per GB-month above the free 10 GB, plus $0.36 per million cache misses above the free 10 million. Data out is free. Requests Cloudflare answers from its cache never reach the bucket.
Amazon S3, served directly: $0.023 per GB-month, $0.0004 per 1,000 requests, and $0.09 per GB out after the free 100 GB.
S3 + CloudFront: S3 storage, S3 reads for cache misses only, and CloudFront at $0.085 per GB after the free 1 TB and $0.01 per 10,000 HTTPS requests after the free 10 million. S3 to CloudFront transfer is free.
Backblaze B2 + Cloudflare: $6.95 per TB-month after the free 10 GB. Reads are free, and data out through Cloudflare is free.
Host disk: $1 per GB-month beyond what your plan includes: Kinsta's add-on is $20 per 20 GB, and WP Engine's is $1 per GB.

What it leaves out

Rounding. R2 bills whole GB-months and whole millions of operations, so 10.1 GB is billed as 11. The calculator charges the exact fraction.
New uploads. A store adding 500 photos a month makes about 5,500 writes, far inside R2's free million.
Your local copies. Offloading frees host disk only once you delete the local files; most offload plugins keep them by default.
Regions, taxes and commitments. S3 and CloudFront prices are for the US and Europe; annual and enterprise plans differ.
