# EDD Software Licensing

> How Payments via Polar for EDD works with EDD Software Licensing, and what hasn't been tested yet.

**Not tested yet.** EDD Software Licensing is a paid add-on and isn't part of this plugin's test suites. What follows is how the plugin is built to work with it; check it on a test purchase before relying on it.

- **Keys are issued when the order completes**, as with any EDD gateway. Polar completes the order; Software Licensing does the rest.
- **Renewals and upgrades bought through the cart** are charged at the price EDD works out, because Polar charges the EDD order total.
- **Refunds:** an item refunded in full has its key revoked. A refund made in Polar for exactly one item's price is recorded against that item, so only its key is revoked.
- **Automatic renewals aren't supported.** This version takes one-time payments, so a license can be renewed through the cart, not billed again automatically.
